The Grade One and Senior Kindergarten students did a wonderful job sharing their "All About Me Bag" and we enjoyed learning new things about each other.
Students were given the opportunity to share and discuss one item from their bag with the whole class, and then we broke off into smaller groups to share the other three items with their group members.
Malcolm shared a picture of his family and we learned all about his special trip to Costa Rica for his Mom's birthday.
James shared his Fingerling Dinosaur toy and we learned about his love of dinosaurs.
Grace shared a picture of her family and we learned about her trip to Canada's wonderland and her fun on the water slide with her brother Harrison.
Lucy shared her toy horse and we learned about her adventures with horseback riding lessons.
Cara shared her ballet slippers and we learned about her love of dance.
Mielle shared her ski goggles and we learned that she enjoys skiing at Devil's Glen.
Benner shared his Collingwood Colts hockey shirt which was signed by the Barrie Colt's team members and we learned about his passion for hockey.
Ben shared his wooden snake and we learned that he likes snakes.
Olivia shared a special rock from her birthday gift which turns rocks into different colours and shapes.
Benton shared his toy dinosaur and gave us some interesting facts about the Allosaurus.
Rose shared her skate guard and we learned that she enjoys both skating and dancing.
Emma shared her Frozen bag and we learned that she loves Elsa and Anna.
Sophia shared a picture of her dog Daisy (Dais-a-roo!) who was comforting her when she was sick. Daisy is a silver lab and she also has a chocolate lab named Hunter.
Jack L. shared his Guardian of the Galaxy toy and we learned about his love of action figures.
Madison shared a picture of her Hedgehog and brought in some real quills for us to look at. She feeds her hedgehog kibble.
Clara shared her wooden spoons instrument and we learned about her trip to PEI.
Cooper shared a picture of his family riding the Woolly Mammoth tube ride at Great Wolf Lodge.
Parker shared the badges he has earned at Beavers and we learned about how he earns these badges and sews them on his vest.
Hunter shared his Raptor dinosaur, "Baby Blue" and we learned about his love of dinosaurs.
Jack W. shared a picture of himself and his sister who is in JK in Mrs. McIntyre's class. Jack is a wonderful big brother.
The more we get to know each other a appreciate all of our unique interests and talents, the stronger our classroom community bond grows.
Thank you for participating in our "All About Me Bag" activity.
We will be starting up a "Show and Share" Program in October (stay tuned for more details). In the meantime, I am requesting that students do not bring in items from home to show the class.
